Identify immediate harm before preparing a routine request
Content involving a possible minor, coercion, non-consensual intimate material, an exposed home address or an immediate threat should be labelled clearly as urgent. Do not redistribute the harmful material while reporting it.
State the right or harm that is affected
- Privacy or doxxing
- Personal data was exposed without appropriate authority and creates a privacy or harm concern.
- Impersonation
- A profile, image or contact method falsely represents you or another person.
- Consent or exploitation
- Media or participation is non-consensual, coerced, controlled or involves a possible minor.
- Copyright or media rights
- You own or control identified material and have not authorised this use.
- Inaccuracy
- A specific public fact is materially wrong, stale or attributed to the wrong person.
- Review concern
- A review contains private data, manipulation, impersonation or another policy violation.
Send enough to assess the publication—nothing unrelated
- The exact public URL and the profile, review, image or text at issue.
- Your relationship to the affected person or material.
- A concise explanation of the concern and the action requested.
- Evidence of rights, consent withdrawal or correction where relevant.
- A safe contact method for follow-up.
Redact unrelated identity numbers, addresses, financial details and third-party data. If identity or authority must be established, the directory should request the minimum additional evidence needed rather than invite a full document archive.
Action should match the evidence and the risk
The directory may temporarily restrict material while assessing a serious concern. A final content decision may leave the material unchanged, correct a field, redact private information, remove specific media, remove a review, unpublish a profile or request more information. The same outcome is not appropriate for every request type.
Relevant records may be retained where needed to prevent repeat abuse, respond to a lawful request or establish the history of a decision. That does not mean the harmful material must remain publicly visible.
A request can be clarified without turning it into a public dispute
